Keeping a Sense of Humor When the Septic System Goes Out

Well two days ago the septic system at The Phoenix went out. As is StarFish, I named where I live The Phoenix for the same reasons Jax did in the novel. To that extent StarFish is a bit autobiographical. We write about what we know right? So when the septic system went out, so did the ability to take a shower. Not convenient. What did I do? I sat on the porch and looked up at the sky and quietly intoned I am grateful

So the pump truck showed up. I had to laugh. The license plate says Poopy. The universe has a sense of humor right?

Miles, the driver pumped it out. He did a great job. As he was doing it an inspiration dropped in: put Jobes Compost Starter into the tank. So this is a new experiment with truth. My sense of it is it will reduce the build up of the waste ... so less need to pump it out. The leach field lies beneath part of my gardens so as the Archaea and mycorrhizal fungi multiplies it will find its way into the leach field and then the gardens. That's a good thing. I will update this post as I see results.
